NICOLE SHERRINGHAM

Flauto Traverso

 

Nicole Sherringham is lecturer in Flute at the University of Newcastle, and performs on Baroque flute, modern flute and piccolo. Nicole studied modern flute with James Kortum and began Baroque flute whilst studying for her B.Mus.Hons degree; studying with Hans-Deiter Michatz, and later, Melissa Farrow. She performs regularly as guest flute with Newcastle’s Christchurch Camerata and has worked with many different ensembles. Recent performances include the Canberra International Music Festival with Bach Akadamie Australia and the RSCM Festival Orchestra conducted by David Hill. Nicole is a primary and early childhood music specialist, and also teaches in the Education Faculty at the University of Newcastle.
