JENNIFER BRIAN

Flauto Traverso

 

 

Jennifer is a conservator, PhD Candidate and flautist with a passion for the care, conservation and use of historic flutes.  She is a PhD candidate at the Australian National University under the supervision of renowned flautist Dr Sally Walker, investigating sound, structure and significance of historic flutes in collections.

Jennifer has been principal flautist with the Canberra Bach Ensemble for a number of years, performing numerous cantatas, the St John Passion and the Magnificat.  She also performs traverso with other Canberra based chamber ensembles including the Limestone Consort. She has studied under Australian traverso experts Sally Walker, Melissa Farrow and Greg Dikmans and also performs regularly on the 8 keyed 19th C Flute.
